Conductor

Beginning as a chorister at Lichfield Cathedral, Joe went on to study Linguistics with a brass and choral scholarship at the University of Kent. It was at Kent where Joe earned the opportunity to conduct and work with the choral community at Canterbury Cathedral, sparking a career long passion for choral conducting. After graduating with a first class degree in Linguistics and winning numerous music awards, Joe continued conducting professionally, with The Parliament Choir, Invicta Upper Voices, Morgan Stanley workplace choir and numerous youth choirs within the borough of Lewisham. Joe has been under under the tutelage of Amy Bebbington (Royal Academy of Music) and Mark Griffiths (Coro).

Invicta Upper Voices

Invicta Upper Voices, and twin choice Invicta Voices, are two of London’s leading a cappella chamber choirs. Originally formed primarily from University of Kent alumni choral scholars, the choirs perform a vast array of vocal music, ranging from traditional choral polyphony to European premieres of new music by leading contemporary composers.

Since Invicta’s inception in 2014, the choirs have performed at many prestigious venues across London including The House of Lords, The Gresham Centre, St James’s Piccadilly and Kings Place as well as performing on tour in Germany and at Canterbury Cathedral.
